This is a thread that I moved from another section to make it easier to find for others with the same question. It can also be found in Suggestions and Requests.

I keep hearing about different paths, but I haven't found anything indicating what paths there are. Is there such a list, or is it something you come up with on your own?

Here is a list... don't let it overwhem you though.. These things usually just come to you, you find what fits you eventually... and many are just eclectic. It's really not important when you come right down to it.. you will find your path.
World religions:
There are many, long established, major world religions, each with over three million followers. We have shown the five largest North American religions in bold:
Baha'i Faith
Buddhism
Christianity;
Christian groups, denominations and families (Amish to The Way)
Confucianism [Actually, this religion has no formal symbol. But this one is sometimes used unofficially]
Hinduism
Islam
ainism
Judaism
Shinto
Sikhism
Taoism
Vodun (Voodoo)
Neopagan religious faiths:
1 Neopagan faiths are modern-day reconstructions of ancient Pagan religions from various countries and eras. They experience a high but diminishing level of discrimination and persecution in North America. They were once rarely practiced in public for reasons of safety. This is rapidly changing for the better.
Ásatrú (Norse Paganism)
Druidism
Goddess Worship
Wicca
Witchcraft
Notes:
Many followers of Asatru regard themselves as "Heathens" rather than "Neopagans. "
Many followers of these religions refer to themselves as "Pagans." We use the term "Neopagan" because it is less ambiguous. "Pagan" has a variety of unrelated meanings.
Other organized religions:
These are smaller religions, with a well defined belief in deity, humanity and the rest of the universe. Of the many hundreds of faith groups in the world, we have chosen these because of their historical significance, or because of the massive amount of misinformation that has been spread about them in North America:
Caodaism
Damanhur Community
Deism
Druze
Eckankar
Elian Gonzalez religious movement
Gnosticism
Gypsies
Hare Krishna - ISKCON
Ifa, the religion of the Yoruba people of West Africa
Lukumi
Macumba
Mowahhidoon
Native American Spirituality
Rom, Roma, Romani, Rroma, (a.k.a. Gypsies)
Santeria
Elian Gonzalez religious movement
Satanism; The Church of Satan
Scientology
Unitarian-Universalism
The Creativity Movement (formerly called World Church of the Creator)
The Yazidi branch of Yazdanism
Zoroastrianism

There are also Neo-Pagan branches of Kemetic (Egyptian) and Hellenic (Greek) paths. I would actually not place gnosticism under the pagan branch, although there are a fair few agnostic folks mingling with the pagans. There are also pantheists and panentheists who don't really follow a set path in paganism itself. Report to Mod - Link to Post - Back to Top 84.25.200.59

Okay...now I'm a little confused. I've never really thought of this list as "paths". They have always been referred to as religions, or faiths. My concept of path was a following of different Neo-Pagan, or Wiccan ideas. Is this a misconception on my part?

Your "path" can be anything... it's the way you choose to live your life. Religions... Spiritual paths, or some think they have no path at all.. which of course is not true... Even standing still is a path, lol..
