Many who practice are very into ritual and all of the wonderful props and such that go with it. Many also do simple spells just by saying a few words without all of the herbs, props, gem stones, etc. Where do you fall in this? If you are ritualistic like I am, do you ever find yourself wondering if the simple words spoken in a moment of need are sufficient?

I'm thinking that props are there to help others believe something is about to happen. People expect things to happen when you wave a wand, or "cast the stones". Also, it may help the beginner reinforce his/her own beliefs. The more advanced practitioners may be able to do just as much without all the showy stuff.

Any items that you use during a spell or ritual are there to help reinforce your own intentions... your visualization. I prefer, as a new practitioner, to use many different items such as candles, herbs, oils, incense, and whatever else I bring into my spells. I like the feel ofthe enhanced power and they help me to focus on my purpose. As someone whose mind runs 1,ooo miles a minute, it is very helpful to me.
